| Wool and horsehair combine in a banner inspired
by the pierced and gilded bronze weathervanes,(1000-1050 C),
found in medieval Norway. The design is worked in three-layer
reverse applique, so is visible from both sides, and the long
horsehair tassels not only make it function as a wind vane, but
are immensely entertaining to small children. While this is my
personal banner, and not available for purchase, I can create
a custom banner for an individual, household, or group. |
